Round 10 EPL prediction

Another week is coming to an end and for us, the football fans, this means not just resting from the busy working days, but also some football magic on our TVs. English Premier League is back just a couple of days since the end of the midweek’s League Cup round and now the race for the title is back on. Some of the Cup’s favorites are already off the tournament and they are setting their eyes mainly for the EPL’s trophy. Let’s check some of the games this week and see what they have to offer us.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Round’s derby! Two of Top 3 teams one against one for the win. Arsenal are lone on the top 2 points clear from Chelsea and Pool and this game will give Liverpool the chance to pass by the Gunners in the table. Arsenal had some fairly easy games by now and since the loss vs Borussia they are on some tough schedule next several games. They took their game against Crystal Palace in style after Arteta was sent off for a fairly 50-50 challenge and lucky for the Gunners, he had only 1 game ban which he served in the midweek loss to Chelsea in the League Cup. Flamini is set to miss the game against Pool and Arteta’s rejoining is good news for Wenger.
The Merseyside team on the other hand is on the wings of the great performance the so called “SAS” duo is showing on the field, with Suarez and Sturridge being a nightmare for every goalkeeper this season. They both have 14 goals in total and are 1st and 3rd in the goalscoring list in the EPL for now. For Arsenal, it is Giroud and Aaron “Rambo” Ramsey on target with 5 goals each.
Can Arsenal manage to not concede a goal without Flamini and his importance in the defence look of the team, and will Pool show some class in the back and manage to limit Mesut Özil’s vision of the game and passes? By any means, this is the game of the round, not just for the attack philosophy of both teams, history, trophies and all and all…
It’s one of the Big Derbies and we are going to enjoy every minute of it !

                                                                                                      Prediction: 3:2

Fulham vs Manchester United

Fulham, like Arsenal, dropped from the League Cup after a loss against Leicester City in a game with 7 goals and a lot of comebacks. Manchester United destroyed Norwich, in what looks to be the week and revelation of Javier Hernandez. 2 goals for Chicharito and overall 4 in last two games for the SAF’s former ace in the sleeve. Now the Red Devils face Cottagers on the one side of the bank of Thames and both sides need a win. For United, it is for keeping in the pace for the first spot, even being 8 points behind Arsenal at the moment, and for Fulham it is for keeping off the schedule for a second division football next season. We are going to watch a quite nervous game this Saturday noon.

                                                                                                       Prediction: 2, Over 2,5 goals

Manchester City vs Norwich City

Difficult week for The Canaries it is! After meeting the red side of Manchester in midweek in a game for the League Cup and returning home with full sack of goals, now they are set to meet the blue side of Manchester, again in Manchester… Tough challenge and almost impossible for the Yellows to grab something in this game. Not just that, it will be even more difficult to not concede at least 2 or even 3 goals again. Sadly, for Norwich again of course, City are on a rise in their form and after breaking Newcastle 2:0 after 120 minutes in midweek, with what can be called their second team, the Citizens are hungry for points and it is more likely that they will take what is theirs in this game.

                                                                                                        Prediction: 4:0

Newcastle
vs Chelsea

The Toon army couldn’t make it against City in midweek, losing after 120 minutes with 0:2 on St James’ Park. Now they are set to welcome another of the top teams of England. And this time it is more darker tone of blue they are set to face. It is Jose’s Chelsea, visiting Newcastle upon Tyne this Saturday and they are out for some points. Chelsea crushed the EPL current leader Arsenal on Emirates with goals from Azpilicueta and Mata and showed the pundits that they will be one of the prime contenders for the title this season. Yes, they faced the Gunners in the League Cup, but thats by any means doesn’t belittles the powers of Jose and his squad. Newcastle are with just 1 win in their last 5 games; they lost the Tyne-and-Wear derby against Sunderland last round and now mid-table with 11 points after 9 rounds. Quite shaky in performance, The Magpies are just 3 points over the red zone and they need to make a solid game against the Blue giants of London.

                                                                                                        Prediction: 1:2

Cardiff City vs Swansea City

It’s the Welsh derby this round! Two teams that are fighting for a solid place in the middle of the table at the end of the season. Cardiff’s last win was against Fulham on Craven Cottage 4 rounds ago and they are just over the red bar, with one point margin from Norwich City. Now they face the other Welsh team in the league – the 2012/2013 League cup winner Swansea City. The Swans are doing good in Europa League and still manage to be in the upper side of the table, currently holding the 9th place with 11 points. They destroyed Sunderland a week ago, but couldn’t manage to do the same against West Bromwich last round and finished only 0:0.
Now, Cardiff and Swansea face each other on home land and the fans will give their best to make it a real Welsh clash.

                                                                                                        Prediction:

Stoke City vs Southampton

This is going to be quite a game.  The ordinary football fan, except the Manchester United fans of course, will feel sorry for Stoke for their absolutely undeserved loss against the champions from Manchester. Yes, United are in some kind of mini crysis, but Stoke’s performance in that game was absolutely by the book. Great game indeed from Mark Hughes’ boys and it was just that Chicharito boy with a ton of luck that saved the day for David Moyes and his players. Absolutely crushing for the Potters.
Now they welcome the side from South Britain – Southampton. A team, that plays  great football under a coach who struggled with english some months ago. Mauricio Pochettino made the Saints a team that can take points from absolutely all teams in the table and Southampton are using the momentum to get the maximum. Strong side at home, tough opponent as a visitor – the Saints right now.
It will be fun game to watch, because if Stoke make the production they showed against United, it will be quite a clash against the in-form Saints and it will be nice for all the viewers.
